I have mentioned before that I got the inspiration for lace flowers from the lace edges of Haapsalu Shawls/Scarves. I used the traditional patterns for making the bridal flowers and they came out lovely, elegant and big. After making several big flowers, I thought that it would be nice to have smaller flowers also that you could use with the big flowers in your hairdo, or in bridesmaids/flower girl hairdos. And, then my fantasy just kept going, why not saw the smaller flowers to a wedding dress and have a big one in your hair – wouldn’t that be lovely. Or using the small flowers in the centerpiece, on the cake (too crazy?), in food stations.
So, I looked at the patterns and changed them just a little bit so that I could knit smaller flowers. And, here is the first of them. I also had just brought several bags of small glass beads and I was very excited to use them to bring out the lovely white colour of the flower and also give some other color to the flower to match the wedding colors.

And a special behind the scenes photo 🙂 I used a mirror as a reflector on a cloudy day and when you see the children in pictures looking away it is mostly because looking in the mirror was more interesting than what mom was doing 😀
